Metallization

We have a workplace for surface treatment of metallization (so-called chipping) – applying non-corroding molten metal to the surface. Thanks to the modern technology of electrometalization, we are able to ensure the high quality of the applied coating (high adhesion and resistance of the coating) even with high workplace performance and even with low operating costs.

We also perform classic gas metallization, where the non-corroding metal is applied by spraying using an acetylene flame and compressed air.

Maximum dimensions of the object (product) to be metallized:

  • 5.5x 3.5x 3.0 m – the capacity of our metallization box

Surfaces according to strength

  • Thin layers – it only creates protection on the surface of the base material, they are not mechanically stressed, the main requirements are that the layer is not excessively porous, that it has good adhesion, that it does not break and fall off on its own.
  • Layers of greater strength – they are usually processed after application, they are subjected to operational mechanical stress, sufficient strength is required.

Metallizing wires

  • Zinc (purity 99.5% and higher) – is used for general protection of steel surfaces, when used in the chemical industry an additional wet top coat is recommended,
  • Aluminum (purity 99.5%) – more resistant to acidic environments and high temperatures (e.g. exhaust, pipes),
  • Alloys – Zinacor 850 = Zn (85%) + Al (15%) alloy – to combine the appropriate properties of both metals, slight mapping after application is not a functional defect

Comment:

  • metallization is mainly intended for anti-corrosion spraying of Zn, ZnAl and Al, but it can also be used for spraying decorative or functional steel coatings
  • metallization with zinc or other easily fusible material, it is also possible to metallize non-metallic materials,
  • treated products take on a much longer lifespan,
  • the formed layer of metal prevents the penetration of moisture and oxygen to the surface of the metal and thus prevents the occurrence of corrosion and extends the service life of metallized units several times,
  • coatings made standard with zinc, aluminum or Zinacor 850 alloy,
  • a layer of 40-250 microns can be applied as needed,
  • hot-sprayed metals can be processed further under certain conditions – turning, grinding,
  • the applied metal coating layer is continuously measured,
  • even after metallization, a wet paint shop or other surface treatment may follow,
  • cooperatively, we normally provide hot-dip galvanizing of our products.
